In 2021, the Glocusent team was deeply saddened by the news of the Texas Snow Disaster. As a company that specialized in producing book lights, we realized that we had a responsibility to do more to help people in times of crisis. We began to explore the idea of creating a product line of outdoor lighting that would be specifically designed to help people survive unexpected disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, or storms. We wanted to create products that would be durable, reliable, and easy to use in emergencies.

We started by researching the needs of people who had been through natural disasters. We spoke to families who had lost power for days, even weeks and heard their stories of struggling to find reliable sources of light. We also spoke to emergency responders and experts in disaster preparedness to get their input on what features would be most helpful in a product line of outdoor lighting.

With this research in mind, we began developing prototypes of camping lanterns that were designed to be portable, durable, and bright. We focused on creating a
